Central Festival is the premier shopping center in Pattaya. It occupies seven floors and includes a wide range of designer stores, a superb variety of dining options, a 10-screen cinema and bowling alley. There are IT shops (including a certified Apple outlet), camera stores and plenty of activities for children. With its beachfront location and sleek, modern interior, Central Festival is a magnet for tourists and fully deserves the praise and accolades it has received. Getting to Central Festival is easy: you can walk there from Second Road or use the walkway from Beach Road. The shopping center is open from 11am to 11pm, though some of the restaurants and bars near the entrance remain open until 2am.

Walking Street

Open map

As its name suggests, Walking Street is a pedestrian-only street, closed for traffic from 7pm until 3am. It is located at the southern end of Beach Road and can easily be reached from the View Talay 6 condo. The street is packed full of music venues, discos, sports bars, go-go bars and nightclubs.

Walking down Walking Street from Beach Road to Bali Hai Pier is an experience you will never forget. The street is the epitome of brashness and hedonism! In addition to the plethora of bars (many of which employ transvestites), there are lots of very good seafood restaurants and eateries offering Indian, American, European and Thai cuisine. Walking Street ranks high on Pattaya's list of "must see" attractions. It is uniquely Thai and a place to which many tourists return.

Art in Paradise is one of Pattaya's newest tourist attractions and a great place to while away a few hours. Visitors can enjoy the museum interactively by taking photos of themselves in front of (or next to) 3D paintings and illusions. Not surprisingly, the museum is especially popular with younger visitors.

The building is divided into several rooms and galleries that present a variety of 3D paintings, such as underwater world, dinosaur world, a water fall, ancient Egypt, etc. Tickets cost 500 Baht for adults and 300 Baht for children; the museum is open from 9am until 9pm. Art in Paradise is very close to Pattaya Second Road, not far from the Amari Hotel and just a short walk from the View Talay 6 condo.

Sanctuary of Truth

Open map

The Sanctuary of Truth (or Prasat Satchatham, in Thai) is one of the most interesting sites in Pattaya. It is a very large wooden temple near the southern end of Beach Road. The architecture is reminiscent of styles which prevailed during the Ayuthaya period. The whole building is adorned with carvings of deities and mythological figures.

Plan to spend several hours at the Sanctuary of Truth if you intend to make a detailed survey of the building's unique architectural features. Staff are knowledgeable and willing to explain cultural and religious significances.
